The Jewish Theological Seminary presents excerpts of STEAL A PENCIL FOR ME, and of AS ONE, by composer Laura Kaminsky, and librettists Mark Campbell and Kimberly Reed. The concert, “As One and Steal a Pencil for Me: Hear Two New Operas and Meet Their Composers” will also feature discussion with me and with Laura Kaminsky about our operas and about the process of creating an opera. STEAL A PENCIL FOR ME will be sung by Margaret Newcomb, Heather Johnson, Joshua Simka, Gideon Dabi, Ricardo Rivera, and Joe Elletto, led by music director Lynn Baker.
