BORROMEO STRING QUARTET AWARD

Gerald Cohen’s String Quartet No. 2 was awarded the 2008 Borromeo String Quartet Award of the Aaron Copland House.  This award is given to “one exceptional composition for string quartet each year written by an Aaron Copland Award resident composer.”  The piece, originally commissioned by the Franciscan String Quartet, will be performed on July 4, 2010 in Taos, New Mexico by the Borromeo String Quartet.  It is featured on the CD Generations: Music of Gerald Cohen.
